Getting started

Wuffi supports Windows x64. Run the EXE directly; no Node.js installation is needed. Press Ctrl + O to open Markdown,Ctrl + S to save, andCtrl + / to switch between visual and source modes.

Documents and drafts are stored locally. Save important work as standard .md files and keep your own backups.

Set up your AI connection

1. Install and start a compatible model service separately. Wuffi does not install or start the model.
2. Press Ctrl + J, open connection settings from the AI panel’s ⋯ menu, enter the API base URL and model name, then test. The default endpoint is http://127.0.0.1:8080/v1。
3. Select a passage, ask “Make this more concise, keeping my tone,” and accept or reject each sentence.

There is no API-key field yet, so cloud services requiring authentication cannot be configured directly. Do not put keys in URLs. AI can make mistakes; check suggestions before applying them.

7-day trial and one-time license

Your 7-day full-feature trial starts on first launch. No credit card or automatic charge. After it ends, further editing and AI requests require a license; existing documents remain readable, copyable, savable, and exportable.

The license covers personal and commercial writing. Do not resell, share, or distribute license keys. Final prices and taxes are shown at Polar checkout.

Activation and moving devices

Polar handles payment and license delivery. Enter your key in Preferences → General → Manage license. Initial activation needs an internet connection. After successful verification, you can continue during temporary offline periods.

Deactivate the old device in the app, or manage devices in the Polar customer portal. License and trial information are encrypted for your Windows user. Changing the Windows user or settings data may require reactivation.

14-day refund policy

Within 14 days of purchase, request a refund at support@wuffi.app with your order number and purchase email address. Do not send full license keys, card details, or unnecessary document content.

The related license is revoked when a refund is completed. Your files are not deleted and remain readable, savable, and exportable. Processing time depends on the payment provider.

This policy does not limit other rights provided by Polar or applicable law.

Privacy

Normal editing and draft recovery happen locally. The editor does not upload your writing in the background or use analytics tracking.

When using AI

Only when you make an AI request are selected document content, conversations, and explicitly attached images sent to your configured model service. A local endpoint processes them locally; other providers determine their own data practices. Personal photos used for the dog companion stay on your computer.

Payments, licensing, and support

Polar handles payments, billing, and license data. Activation sends the license key, activation ID, and a random installation ID, not your documents or hardware serial numbers. Cloudflare forwards support emails to our support mailbox provider. We use the information you send to resolve support and refund requests.

Website

The website uses Google Analytics 4 only after your consent to understand page views, language choices, demo playback, and download or purchase link use. This does not include writing in the editor, license keys, or support messages. Ad personalization is disabled. You can decline or withdraw consent at any time using Analytics settings in the footer. Local storage remembers your choice; Google uses analytics cookies after consent. The server separately keeps operational access logs including IP, request path, and time, rotated at 10 MiB with up to 5 files retained.

Versions and future updates

Wuffi includes visual and source Markdown editing, local drafts, sentence-by-sentence AI review, Polar licensing for 2 devices, and a 7-day trial.

After release, download updates manually from the website. There is no built-in auto-updater. Supported operating systems and model compatibility may change with future versions.

Third-party components retain their own licenses. The app includes THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md, font and component licenses, and license documents for the separate Pandoc tool.
